According to WHO, a quarter of the world's inhabitants have toenail fungus (onychomycosis).
Many people do not realize that they have become a carrier of a fungal infection until the nail begins to deform, peel off, and change color.
If the disease starts, neighboring nails are affected, and the fungus spreads to the skin of the feet and hands.
The problem is that curing a fungal disease is not easy; even after serious treatment, relapses are possible.Therefore, it is important to identify the disease in a timely manner and begin treatment.
If drug therapy is not effective enough, apple cider vinegar will help with toenail fungus as an additional or primary treatment.
Symptoms of fungus on nails
Successful treatment depends on how early the disease is diagnosed.
When regularly visiting a sauna, swimming pool, or pedicure salons, you need to be especially attentive to your health, noticing any changes that appear.At risk are people who suffer from excessive foot sweating and neglect personal hygiene.Nail fungus can be recognized by the following signs:
- the appearance of longitudinal scars, whitish spots on the nail;
- changing the color of the nail plate to white, green, brown, yellow, black;
- the formation of empty space between the nail bed and the nail itself;
- deformation, peeling of the nail due to its thinning or thickening;
- the appearance of an unpleasant odor;
- painful sensations.
At the beginning of the course of the disease it is difficult to notice, but over time, changes in structure and color become quite obvious.To clarify the diagnosis, a scraping of the nail and the cuticle around it is analyzed.After laboratory testing, the doctor will tell you how to treat the fungus, including using simple vinegar.
